The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship (LExS) is awarded to excellent students joining a full-time Leiden University Master's degree programme — one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the Netherlands. The scholarship is awarded for the duration of the study programme, with five award levels ranging from €10,000 to €19,000 of the tuition fee.
⚠️ Be aware: the LExS is a highly competitive scholarship — Leiden has only around 25 LExS scholarships available each year, while over a thousand students apply. The deadline for September 2027 entry is 1 December 2026.
