The Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project is the flagship international scholarship competition of the Russian Federation, organized by the Association of Global Universities under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Rossotrudnichestvo. Now in its tenth consecutive year, Open Doors has become one of the largest and most accessible fully funded scholarship programmes in the world, attracting over 600,000 participants from more than 200 countries and awarding 20,000+ winners and runners-up with tuition-free places at Russia's top universities.

The competition is held entirely online, costs nothing to enter, and offers four academic tracks — Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral (PhD), and Postdoctoral — across 14 subject areas covering approximately 80% of major academic fields. Winners gain direct admission to 24 leading Russian universities without entrance exams, plus a comprehensive support package including a monthly stipend, travel reimbursement, medical insurance, and accommodation support for Russian-taught programmes.
